DID YOU EVER WANT TO...OPEN A PHARAOH'S TOMB ???
Imagine yourself an intrepid archaeologist...on the verge of MANKIND'S GREATEST DISCOVERY.  With trembling fingers you peel back the millennia-old layers of soot...you defy the phararonic curses scrawled about...you ignore the billowing clouds of sacred dust.  The door creaks, groans.  The twisting and splitting of wood greets your ear like a Brahms symphony.  You're closer.  Finally it gives way and another world, a world conjured up in legend and fable, becomes a reality.  Riches and splendor beyond thought.  Gold and jewels, baubles of the conquerors and the conquered, rare minerals and ivory tusks, everything bedecked in a splendor that shakes the senses.
 Can it be real?
 A fantasy?
Could it happen again, or is this kind of adventure consigned strictly to the history books?
Suppose there was ONE MORE CHANCE.  One pharaoh's tomb yet unopened, unplundered still caught in time like a fly in amber.  Suppose it was RIGHT HERE, in the cement caverns of New York, not sequestered amid the shifting sands of a strange foreign land?  And no curses upon those who enter  !!
The Cambridge-Essex Stamp Co. is a MINE OF RICHES FOR THE COLLECTOR.  Mere words pale in an attempt at description.  There has never been a collector establishment quite the match of it.  Think of the quaintness and charm of Dickens' "The Old Curiosity Shop."  Toss in a few galleries of the British Museum, half a cellar worth of the Louvre in Paris, three or four acres of the more colorful mideast bazaars, and the sort of collecting spirit that inspired super-eccentrics like the Collyer Brothers to cram every square centimeter with THINGS, THINGS, and MORE THINGS.  Then and only then MIGHT you form a passably plausible concept of what lurks through the portals of 41 Kensico Drive, Mount Kisco, NY.
Rare old documents, postage stamps by the (literally) millions in bags/cartons/albums, paper ephemera reflecting every facet of American life since the days of Columbus, porcelain, silverware, coins spanning 2,500 years, autographs of celebrities from Sitting Bull to Marilyn Monroe, finely crafted artifacts of every ethnic culture, trophy specimens that would turn Teddy Roosevelt green with envy...  The variety, the scope, the sheer quantity is dazzling.  So much in one location.  AND ALL OF IT FOR SALE, not like the things in those stodgy old hands-off museums!
WHATEVER YOU COLLECT, IT'S HERE FOR YOU...WAITING TO BE DISCOVERED.  But it won't last forever (let's face it, even the pyramids have lost a stone or two).  And when gone, a big slice of American folklore will be gone.
